Along with our families, we are incredibly excited to celebrate the next phase of our lives with our loved ones! We hope to share pieces of Shaneel's North Indian Hindu (Fiji) and Jessy's Sikh Punjabi and South Indian (Malaysia) cultures throughout our intimate wedding events.
As you scroll through the website, you'll find answers to what we anticipate may be FAQ's, if you have any further questions about the wedding or Malaysia please feel free to contact us.
We would like to thank you all for the overwhelming support and love we’ve received. A special thank you to those that will be travelling from various parts of the world to be there with us, we couldn’t be more grateful.
See you all in Kuala Lumpur for a weekend filled with dancing and lots of love!
The wedding party will be staying at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, an award winning hotel, known for its inspiration from traditional Malay architecture and gracious Malaysian hospitality. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Kuala Lumpur and is within walking distance from shopping districts of greater Bukit Bintang as well as minutes' walk from the Petronas Twin Towers, Pavilion and the famous Changkat nightlife!
Please book your accommodation directly via the website above or through Agoda and Booking.com for the best deals available. If you're unable to find a room for those dates, please let us know and we can contact the hotel on your behalf to enquire.
You are also more than welcome to stay at an alternative location as only one of the wedding events will be hosted at the Royale Chulan. However, if you are wanting to use the transportation we will be providing, we strongly encourage remaining within a 3km radius of this hotel for smoother logistics and time management as KL traffic can get crazy!
We will provide transportation services to the wedding venues on the day, these services will only depart from Royale Chulan, Kuala Lumpur. Please advise us if you are not staying at the hotel but require this service so we can accommodate accordingly.
For your personal trips around Kuala Lumpur, you may download the ride share app Grab. We recommend downloading and setting up this app before arriving in Malaysia, so that you are ready to go as soon as you land!
There are also LRT and MRT stations near the hotel ranging from a 3-13 minute walk away. This is a convenient way to move around Kuala Lumpur and avoid traffic!
Kuala Lumpur is hot and humid however all our events will be taking place indoors with air conditioning, including the Gurdwara!
Besides that, we recommend packing light clothing and plenty of sun protection.
Please use the contact form below, or send us an email at: [email protected]
Your invite will confirm if you have a plus 1! Outside of this, only named guests are invited to our intimate celebrations.
There are a few options for converting your currency to Malaysian Ringgit.
Anand Karaj, translating to “Blissful Union,” is the Sikh marriage ceremony. It takes place in a Sikh temple (Gurdwara) and involves the couple walking around the holy scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, while hymns representing stages of married life are recited. The ceremony emphasizes love, equality, and commitment.
The centerpiece of the Anand Karaj is the recitation of the Laavan, four stanzas composed by Guru Ram Das Ji. Each stanza represents a stage of spiritual union, and as the couple walks around the Guru Granth Sahib, they enter into a deeper connection and understanding of their love and commitment.
The wedding ceremony will be held at the Gurudwara, and therefore we ask that you dress modestly.
You must cover your head when entering the Gurudwara. Hats and caps are not permitted, but you can use a scarf or tie a handkerchief around your head. Many Gurudwaras provide head coverings at the entrance for visitors. For women, we do not recommend wearing a Sari to the Gurudwara, or any outfit that exposes the midriff.
Dress in a way that allows you to sit comfortably on the floor. Avoid wearing low-hanging trousers, shorts, short skirts, and short tops.
Not at all! Please wear whatever you feel most comfortable and confident in, while still respecting the dress code that we will list on the invites (no shorts, ripped jeans, slippers and singlets).
There are plenty of clothing styles and options to choose from. Where do we even begin?
If you find yourself in Kuala Lumpur days before the wedding events begin, we recommend visiting Little India in Brickfields, or Plaza City One, Jalan Masjid India. You'll find options for stitched and unstitched Indian attire. You may also opt to rent Indian attire from Saimika Trends Lehngha and Sherwani (Brickfields).

Years of living minutes from each other sharing the same coffee spot, favourite restaurants and even attending the same university without knowingly crossing paths, it took the pandemic and Tinder to bring us together!
Being together for half a decade, we’ve already created memories that will last a lifetime. Travels around Europe and SouthEast Asia, moving from New Zealand to Australia and every moment in between have all been memorable! We have loved building a life and home with each other that is filled with love, lots of laughter and a huge amount of sass (what rhymes with "Sassy...").
So how did Shaneel pop the question? On a humid evening in Hoi An, Vietnam, after a romantic dinner by the river and the releasing of the lanterns where we wished for peace and happiness. Shaneel whipped out a proposal speech that would’ve brought Jessy to tears if she heard a word he said and asked Jessy to marry him. She said Yes and now he is stuck doing wedding admin on the weekends..
